Microchipping Your Pet for a Safe and Secure Return
Why Microchipping Your Pet Is Key to Their Safety
Even the most careful pet owners can’t always prevent their pets from getting lost. A leash might snap, a pet could slip through an open door or window, or someone may accidentally leave a gate unlocked. These accidents happen quickly and unexpectedly.
That’s why we strongly recommend combining a microchip with a collar and ID tag for the best protection. While ID tags are valuable for quick identification, they can fall off or be removed, especially during grooming or play. Microchips, on the other hand, provide a permanent form of identification that stays with your pet for life.
Pets with microchips are far more likely to be reunited with their families. Unfortunately, pets without microchips that end up in shelters may be adopted by another family—or, in some cases, may face euthanasia if unclaimed.
We encourage you to contact us to schedule a microchipping appointment. While we hope you’ll never need it, having a microchip—and a recovery plan—can give you peace of mind and help you act quickly if your pet goes missing.
We also offer microchipping for ferrets, rabbits, birds, and other small companion animals!
